Juice Head is an international brand that produces various vape products such as nicotine e-liquids and vape disposables. To address a market desire for a higher capacity disposable device, I was tasked with developing the branding, device, packaging, and print collateral for our new lineup of devices, Juice Head Maxx

The Prompt
Since 2015, Juice Head has offered some of the best-tasting e-liquids and disposables on the market. Looking to introduce a new line of nicotine disposable to the international market, we partnered with Vabeen to customize a device with up to 10,000 Puff capacity. And through market research and feedback, we developed three flavors new to the Juice Head brand.
Primed with this information, it was then up to me to visualize what the new brand would look like.
Early Iterations
Early on in the process, there was discussion of maintaining the existing brand style for this new product. However in initial samples, we found that the existing style did not effectively portray the appeal of the flavors and lacked shelf appeal that was needed to compete among the other attention grabbing competitors. A re-think was needed.
Maxx Visual Style
To emphasize the increased capacity of the device, I developed a distinct visual style for that riffed on the unique selling point of the product. This visual style is a result of merging the airiness of vape “clouds” with the current trend of inflated design to create something playful and vibrant. This playful nature extends to the color palette used on the devices as well as product packaging. Custom type treatment was created for specific selling points that mirrors the rounded nature of the product itself.
Device Design
For the Juice Head Maxx devices, I opted to go emphasize the fun flavors through the use of gradients with equally fun colors on a soft touch rubberized coating. The device features graphics and icons on both sides with UV printing for clarity.
Packaging
The packaging features bright colors with dynamic layout of elements that emphasize the fun and energetic nature of the brand. This is emphasized by the material choice of the packaging, featuring a base iridescent layer that shimmers as it interacts with the print color.
